NO: Most likely gall stones were found after pregnancy probably due to symptoms sonogram was done. Unlike kidney stones , which is a needed organ , entire gall bladder with stones will be removed as the diseased gb is the cause of stone formation., gb is not an essential needed organ

See below: Pregnancy is a common time to develop gallstones due to changes in cholesterol and bile metabolism and other factors. The only proven reliable way to treat is cholecystectomy. However, if you are having no symptoms from the stones you do not need surgery.
