Resolves in 8-14 wee: Pityriais rosea is a self limited rash which lasts 8 -14 weeks. This involves trunk and spares face and extretmities. How was diagnosis made? Is there any involvement of armpit palms soles? This would not be consistent with pityriasis rosea. It would require vdrl test.

I think so: Pityriasis rosea is easy to diagnose if the herald patch is classic and the salmon-plaques with long axes parallel to the dermatomes are there. It itches like crazy for weeks and you don't want that. Erythromycin and using a tanning bed / getting a sunburn (just this once, okay?) are supposed to help.
