Can pityriasis rosea reoccur?

Yes: It is uncommon, but not rare for pr to recur. I believe it may be a manifestation of several viral infections. There is scientific data showing a possible link to hsv6, but not everyone with pr has tested positive for it in the studies. So i think it's likely that other viruses can trigger the same response.
