Is it good or bad that there is no longer pus coming out of an infected area?

Either: If the area is getting better with less swelling, reddness and pain it would be a good sign that the pus has stopped draining. If the area is getting more swollen and painful the pus could be trapped under the skin and unable to drain. This would be bad and would indicate a need for needle drainage.
