Does ringworm of scalp usually cause many symptoms?

Swelling pain: The infection spreads along scalp and down hairs to cause swelling pain amd discharge. It can become secondarily infected with bacteria. It requires a course of oral medications such as Griseofulvin or Lamisil (terbinafine) to eradicate the infection.

Most are quiet: Most cases i see are for painless hair loss and/or irregularity in the skin of the scalp.Rarely there is a boggy painful swelling. Some have tried otc products with little success.

Not really: Some patients report itching or burning, but that's about it.

Itching, burning: Symptoms can be itching or burning.It can also cause pain with swelling.
