Maybe: If you scratch the body site, you can load up your fingernails with the fungus and transfer it to your scalp.The process may not be apparent for a while and will have a different appearance in the scalp than it would on regular skin. If established in the scalp, it will take prescription medication to treat it.The fungus gets well established in the hair root and creams or lotions do not reach it.
