MD time: There is no way i can tell you why but blood in the stool, especially if significant, is not normal and should be evaluated. Hopefully is nothing of importance but you can't tell unless its checked.

Blood in stool.: The red color in toilet is likely blood tinged toilet water - it isn't likely that the entire toilet bowl is filled with blood. It is important to have this evaluated. Possible causes of blood in stool include: fissures, fistulas, hemorrhoids, cancer, ulcers, infections, inflammation, Diverticular disease & Angiodysplasia .
