Charitable Societies: There are many foundations or charitable societies whose mission it is to try to find cures for cancers. Many of these are specific for particular types of cancers. Some examples include the american cancer society, the brain tumor society, or the kommen foundation (for breast cancer). Most major universities or hospitals also have foundations or initiatives for cancer research.
