Yes but minimal: Laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy or laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy is not painless. But, the majority of the pain comes from the small incisions in the abdominal wall, which is usually very easily controlled with oral pain medications. Most women go home in less than 24 hours after an lavh.
