A trusted doc's good: If they have a doctor they trust, that is a good place to start. That doc can do a brief screening and make a referral if needed. That doc can also provide a basic explanation to your loved one. If there is no trusted doc, try to get one by shopping around - any family benefits from having one and an aging family even more. Don't panic, but take steps to prepare for comfortable health management.
