On the contrary: Fiber is considered healthy. Average adult should consume about 20-30 gms fiber each day. It helps regulate the bms, makes it easier to go and helps against diverticulosis too. Constipation and diarrhea, commonly associated with ibs, both reapond well to fiber. I recommend taking it on a regular basis.

Taking fiber: General tips to taking fiber: Take a fiber supplement that has both soluble and insoluble fiber. Take it twice daily, with plenty of water. Try taking it with, or right after, a meal; in addition to possibly being better tolerated, it will slow the absorption of sugars in the food. Take it every single day, so that your gut and gut bacteria develop a stable and healthy relationship with it.
