A member asked:

How can dietary fibre prevent constipation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fiber helps to: Regulate the bowel movements and helps in both constipation and diarrhea. It works by pulling water out of colon to make stool more softer, and give em more bulk. If there is too much water in the stool fiber in the colon will absorb it and make the stool more formed.
