I'd be very shocked: Ask the doctor who prescribed it to take some time to explain & discuss the side effects possible. One possible side effect is swelling in the throat and i suppose you might be interpreting such an effect as thyroid. It is probably not, but ask and if necessary, they can run lab tests. Good luck.

Unlikely: Anything's possible, but this drug has not ever been associated with thyroid cancer, which can occur in anyone no matter what drugs they're receiving.

Mostly unknown: The cause of thyroid cancer is not known in most cases. Exposure to x-rays in childhood, and genetic defects are seen in a minority of the cases. See this site for more info.
