That is normal: Your loss is very very sad. It is normal to be depressed if your father passed away. Lorazepam or Ambien (zolpidem) are ok in this bad situation.

Grieving: Grieving can feel a lot like depression, when we miss the one who has died. Sleep disturbances, appetite changes, and low energy are frequent, along with preoccupation with the deceased. Talking with others who knew your father may help, and perhaps a grief support group also. Temporary sleep aids like Ambien (zolpidem) may help you rest. If this edges into hopelessness, seeing a therapist is a good plan.
