What can i do if my 4yr. old grandson has henoch-schonlein purpura. would steroids help his abdominal pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Hsp is an odd auto immune process with symptoms of variable intensity. Most have a rash that will fade within a month. Some have intestinal and kidney symptoms and a few experience testicular swelling and pain. The majority will self heal with minimal use of comfort meds.Steroids are occasionally used with dramatic pain symptoms but most try to avoid them.
