More than we think: Contusions- bruising in the brain probably happens more often than we think. Many athletes with head injuries have suffered unknown contusions in the brain- thinking these were only concussions. The symptoms are identical and contusions are actually much more serious. Hopefully we will be more vigilant in the future while we observe head injuries more closely.
