LCP hip disease: Legg-calve-perthes disease (lcpd) is loss of blood supply to the proximal femoral head . Lcpd usually occurs in children aged 4-10 years. Initial therapy includes minimal weight bearing and protection of the joint, which is accomplished by maintaining the femur abducted and internally rotated. Abduction and rotation of the femur is accomplished either by (bracing) or surgery.
