Alcoholism: On the long run yes, as the liver gets damaged from long term alcohol abuse, you may start losing the ability to produce Albumin that eventually affects the immune system.

I drink alcohol every day, usually around half a bottle of wine, sometimes more (at weekends). Have done this for around 8 years. I have decided to quit. How long will it take my immune system to recover from the damage done? Will it recover?
