Most often used: Antibiotics for diverticulitis are Levaquin (levofloxacin) and Flagyl or instead of flagyl, cleocin. Treatment is usually for 10 days. These can be taken by mouth. When a patient must be in the hospital on IV drugs, a wide range of choices exists.
