For what length of time do girls usually bloat for before their period?

Varies: On the girl. Some it is 3 days. Others it is 7. Some sadly are two weeks. The best treatment I have found is acupuncture and chinese medicine (as these issues are hormonally related) and chinese medicine balances the body so the response changes and the issue disappears.
