A member asked:

I am treated for bacterial vaginosis but still have discharge. what can it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Difficult to say: Vaginal discharge and irritation or odor can be caused by many things, bv, yeast infections, sexually transmitted diseases, dermatitis (or skin irritation/rashes), sensitivities to condoms, or detergents, just to name some. Some discharge is normal, that is the first thing to remember, but if there is a foul odor, or inflammation - it may be due to one of these treatable causes. Bv can also recur.
