Do doctors see a lot of patients with dry socket?

No, but DENTISTS do: If by doctor you mean your primary care md, then no. We are familiar with, but do not typically manage dry (dental) sockets. There are doctors who do (ent, oral surgeons, plastic surgeons), and dry sockets are painful and not uncommon (~ 5%). You could try over the counter pain medicine, warm salt water swish, or perhaps clove oil to help with symptoms until you see a dentist.

Dry socket: Severely damaged and injured eyes can lead to destruction of the tear mechanism and dryness of the socket. This can make wearing a prosthetic eye difficult and uncomfortable. You should consult with an oculoplastic surgeon if this is your problem as well as your ocularist who made the prosthetic eye.
