Nothing serious: Most commonly a yellow tongue is caused when the papilla on the tongue become enlarged and food and bacteria are trapped. This can be treated by brushing your tongue or using a tongue scrapper. Smoking can cause your tongue to be yellowish. However if the white of your eyes or your skin is also, yellow then the concern is jaundice and you need to see your doctor.
