A murmur is : Produced as a result if turbulent blood flow sufficient to produce audible sound hear by stethoscope. A murmur can be physiologic or pathologic. Most common cause is narrowing and/or leaking valves. Physical exam and auscultation in combination with echocardiogram for diagnosis.
