How would you know if you've got a dry socket?

Dental evaluation: Severe pain, generally 2-3 days following the extraction of a tooth, when there was less pain prior, is a typical indication of a dry socket. Loss of blood clot and bad odor\taste are other symptoms. A trip to the dentist who can place some medication in the socket usually relieves pain and causes natural healing to resume quickly.
