Frostbite is like : A burn but in this case is caused by cold not heat. Tissue damage maybe superficial associate with a stinging sensation and pain and redness or deep and associated with loss of full thickness tissue or even a fingertip or part of the body. Is important that for severe frostbite one gets medical support with hydration pain medication and the proper amount of gentle warming. If someone were past that point and have a bruised black and blue booking area of blistering on the skin caused by cold well that probably is frostbite the thing to do is that observation waiting to see what tissues are demarcating rather than early debridement is preferable.
