Neurapraxia: This term implies incomplete injury. Thus, especially in considering his age, i would be optimistic about recovery of function. Recovery, however, can be prolonged and not really begin until 6+ weeks after injury. The key is to avoid stiffness or contracture in the meantime which may require bracing.

Neuro praxis : Refers to an injury to the insulation of the nerve called the myelin sheath. If you take away the offending cause it normally takes 3 weeks to 3 months to recover. It is unusual to last longer than that and if it does i would be concerned about on going compression or toxic effect or a more serious injury to the nerve itself called axonomesis.
