See below: Reiter's and psoriatic arthritis can have oral lesions that can mimic geographic tongue. If you have either of those underlying conditions, Methotrexate should help.

Possibly...: This is an inflammatory condition associated with a number of conditions including psoriasis, down syndrome, type 1 diabetes, idiopathic (no known underlying condition), allergies, and stress. Generally does not require treatment, but treatment of psoriasis with weekly low dose Methotrexate may help if geographic tongue is associated with psoriasis. Would discuss with dermatologist.
