A member asked:

I have hashimotos. i heard that once you develop one autoimmune, your chances greatly increase to develop more. is this true and what is the chance?

True: Autoimmune diseases tend to run in packs, so where patients or family members have conditions such as hashimoto's, vitiligo, type 1 diabetes, arthritis, or lupus, other autoimmune conditions are more likely to occur. The risk is not extremely high, but there is an association with other autoimmune diseases.
