Yes, if...: Yes, it's worth it if you like the doctor, the doctor takes good care of you, and you have a budget for that amount. Many people have an annual deductible of $1500-$2000 on their regular insurance, so paying a good personal doctor $1600 a year is sort of like paying one's annual deductible. Also, one day in the hospital can easily cost ten times that much.
