Probably OK: Although there may be a slightly higher risk of stomach upset taking both together, there is no set amount of time you must wait between the two medications. Some patients take both together on a regular basis for certain types of arthritis.

Not interchangeable : Mobic (meloxicam) is a non steroidal and is used as a general treatment or arthritis, bursitis, tendinitis, etc...Prednisone is only used as a powerful ant inflammatory in diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, vasculitis. It is not interchangeable with nsaids. You should only use Prednisone for these autoimmune type conditions and only with close supervision.
