Treatment of BV: Bv is usually caused by anaerobic gram negative rods and is usually treated with Metronidazole or clindamycin. Tetracyclines like doxy would not be considered first choice agents. If your doctor thinks you have chlamydia or other infections, it may well be the correct agent. Ask your doctor what your tests and cultures show.
