Yes: Congestive heart failure is a collection of syptoms and problems resulting from impaired heart function. It can be treated, and even almost completely reversed if there is a reversible cause for example a blockage of the heart arteries that can be corrected. It can be managed with medications. So one can live many years with chf. On the other hand if severe one can certailnly die from it.
