RICE: Rest, ice, compression and elevation. Avoid any intense physical activities for a while. Ice it if it's sore. You can wrap it with an ace wrap to prevent swelling. And if it does get swelling, it's helpful to sometimes prop the leg up. Ibuprofen and Naproxen also help with the pain. Usually it just takes time for these things to heal.
