Trigger point pain: Overuse of muscles can cause shortening of the muscle which produces knots. These are also known as trigger points which can produce pain because they will topically have poor circulation and lymphatic drainage. They can be quiet and painless when inactive but light back up with use. See a physical therapist or massage therapist for treatment and education on stretching and ways to avoid.
