Wait: Most chemical peels exfoliate the top layer of the skin known as the stratum corneum. This makes the treated skin more sensitive to sunlight. To minimize the risk of sunburn and sun damage, it is safest to not have the peel done prior to a trip where sun exposure is expected. In any case, using a spf30 sunscreen after treatment and avoiding sun is recommended after a peel.
