A member asked:

I know every woman and pregnancy is different, but ideally when is alright for a woman to get pregnant when the mother had lupus nephritis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Patients with a history of renal disease have a higher risk of complications. Also if the lupus is active at the time of conception, there will be more complications. It best to engage in preconception planning with your rheumatologist as your OB as one would want to be in the best health before conception and ideally the lupus should be clinically quiet for about a 1yr before conception is done.
