Depends: It depends on how extensive and how invasive the cancer is. The most aggressive treatment is surgical excision with a narrow rim of normal skin. For slow growing tumors in cosmetically sensitive areas, other non-surgical methods are available; talk with your doctor.

Location, location..: Depending on location, there are different options. Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment, but if the tumor is very superficial (on the skin), a topical treatment may be appropriate. If the scca involves the mouth/throat, surgical excision is common, but radiation may have a role. Best to discuss your individual situation with your doctors.

In the skin?: Many choices: topical medicines like efudex destruction with electrodesiication & curettage excision mohs surgery ultimately, i need to see the tumor under the microscope, view the anatomic site of the tumor, and interview the patient to recommend a treatment plan that is based on the histology of the tumor, its location, and the health status and goals of the patient.
