Some advice: There are many oncologists who sub specialize in breast cancer issues, and often medical schools have programs to address advanced problems of this sort. Do NOT give up, even look at alternative approaches to add to chemotherapy and irradiation. Hard to say what is best approach. If things get worse, maybe a hospice can help. Please persevere, as possible remission remains a potential.

Poor outcome: Metastatic breast cancer is a tough diagnosis to deliver. Affects young women and more aggressive (fatal) the younger the woman. There are trials available to attempt treatment but long term survival is remote. Ask your oncologist if they are aware of any treatment trials available . Usually treatment results in a few more months but rarely years.

POOR OUTCOME: with or without treatment. Discuss options with her oncologist and ask him where he feels is the best. Breast cancers that are metastatic in young women are frequently aggressive and do not have a goo prognosis. Best wishes for her and your family.
