A member asked:

Missed my last period and not pregnant! could thyroid problems cause this or is it something totally different?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely thyroid.: At age 22 it is not unusual to miss a period here or there. There are so many factors that play into having a normal period that is unusual to have totally predictable cycles. Diet, exercise and emotional state / stress are all parts o the process. Thyroid problems generally present with many other symptoms and are very unlikely to be causing a single missed period.
