See physician: 1st-degree burn least serious only the outer layer of skin is burned.The skin usually red often swollen , sometimes pain.2nd degree, first layer of skin burned through and the second layer of skin (dermis) burned.Skin intensely burned , reddened, blisters, pain.Most serious burns 3rd degree, all layers burned.Emergency.Seriously ill.Treatment of minor burns, cold water not ice, gauze, pain relief.
