Quit: You should quit. Benefits of exercise will never outweigh harm done by smoking.

Help: Congratulations on being a survivor and on your interest in being physically fit, but that does not get you off the hook about smoking. Do exercise under the supervision of your doc but quit smoking pronto. Many have done it, no reason you can't. No excuses, ok? Best to you.
