A member asked:

Can excessive use of antibiotics cause prolonged pt in patients with hemophilia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Some classes of antibiotics can prolong the prothrombin time, especially when taken with other medications. Your doctor should be aware of all of your medical conditions, all medications (including herbs and vitamins), and any subsequent symptoms. This can be dangerous and needs close monitoring and frequent lab work.
