Depends: The answer depends on what birth control method you want. First check a pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant. Depoprovera, Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud and Implanon are easier than pills snd can eliminate periods. Some types of birth control periods can cause very light periods. Most pills, the patch and NuvaRing will still give you a period.
