Maybe: If this is pregnancy # 1 then labor occurs with significant regular intervals of back pain/contractions of 3 to 5 minutes apart. If you can't walk talk, laugh or breathe, and the intervals are as described, you are probably in early labor. Call you OB md for more advice.

Possibly: Particularly if there is any rhythm or timing to the discomfort (as in it is there and an ache for 5-10 minutes, then "lets up" for 5-20 minutes). It is worth discussing with your ob, as they might recommend a labor check in l&d with monitor to "look" at uterus for contraction. Give your OB a call/page & ask.
