Different aims: Pap smears are intended primarily to look for cancer and precancer in the cervix. They are amazingly accurate despite the difficulty of doing the test. Urinalysis screens for various chemical abnormalities and if the sediment is examined for formed elements as well. There are some situations in which collection problems or interfering substances prevent the test from being accurate but it's good.
