Yes: Abscesses may need to be thoroughly drained by a doctor to prevent spread of infection and make sure it heals completely. Diabetics have more trouble controlling infections. And, the groin area can be particularly concerning for spread of infection. See someone, get it drained, and you may need antibiotics or pain killers.

Definite problem: If you are diabetic you should have the abscess evaluated and probably drained - your doctor or an urgent care can do that.
