Cocaine, breast milk: Cocaine is metabolized to benzoylecgonine, the marker for Cocaine ingestion. Your breast milk would contain this metabolite, not Cocaine directly. There are other products also. Your baby does not have the enzymes to inactivate cocaine, so is more sensitive to it than you. These products will be detectable in your breast milk 12 hours after use, but are often undetectable by 36 hours after.

Don't breastfeed: It has been reported that infants have shown signs of Cocaine intoxication after breastfeeding if the mother is using. Metabolites can be detected in urine up to 30 hours after last use and 2-7 days after last use in the infants blood. The infant can have seizures as well as many other problems.
