May take longer: Hpv may take up to 24 months to clear. The reason for receiving follow up is that hpv sometimes leads to cervical cancer. Please don't hesitate to address these concerns with your doctor--this is a general answer and each person's care may be individualized based on your age, any precancerous changes on a pap smear or colposcopy, or other factors.

HPV Virus: Hpv is a sexually transmitted virus that can lead to cervical cancer or genital warts. Sometimes the body will keep the body from turning the virus into these but if your body can not heal it then you need to do work hard to stay healthy by not smoking, exercising regularly, and eating a good diet. It is important to keep having your tests to be sure the hpv does not cause problems.
