A member asked:

Does a negative blood test rule out cancer and or kidney problems as a cause of abdominal pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: While some abdominal cancers signal their presence with certain blood tests, many do not and require other types of analysis. Kidney malfunction usually can be detected in blood analysis but kidney tumors do not always do this. So if you are concerned about something going on, and have a negative blood scan, this is not the end of the diagnostics you need.
